This new comic is somewhat in response to those Dove "real beauty" ads that tell women, "You're more beautiful than you think."

Salesladies aren't always nice! Sometimes it's on purpose. So their store can seem "elite."

Hahaha! I hate dealing with salespeople in any context.

From what I've seen, salesgirls have eagle eyes when it comes to pulling down one's ego just enough to make a sale.

I've found salespeople to be overly nice. They'll assure me things look good on me when I know damn well they don't. But ever since the movie "Pretty Woman" I'm terrified of the bitchy sales woman who'll tell me I'm too poor or ugly to shop in her store.

Come to think of it, you're right. It's more the spectre of the evil salesperson that hangs like a cultural pall over the experience. All the jerky salespeople I've ever encountered have been male and work in electronics stores.

The other day I nearly commented on this youtube video and then decided against... the video was of a woman talking about the presentation of women in media (video games in particular) and at first I thought she was going to be complaining about oversexualization. Thing is, I agree there are a lot of problematic presentations of women in media, but for a moment I thought that she was about to complain about the oversexualization of women, whilst herself not having her own eyebrows because apparently her real eyebrows weren't sexy enough, so she shaved them off and replaced them with a makeup pencil higher up like drag queens do. I still am not sure how a perpetually surprised look is considered sexy, but I digress. It turns out she wasn't complaining about oversexualization of women in that video and she made a lot of really good points, so I just decided not to say anything.
